For the past 20+ years, local artisan, Robert Moore, looks for the beauty in and the artistry of various types of local and exotic woods and creates one of a kind functional pieces from wood slabs.  This includes cutting and charcuterie boards, benches, coffee & end tables, occasional and wall / entry / couch tables, bedside tables and decorative pieces. He sources his wood slabs from local sawmills and foreign exotic wood mills, all of whom are committed to environmentally-sound forestry. The local sawmill sources wood from valley-wide arborists to obtain logs from tree removal that would otherwise end up in our landfills.

As a part of Robert’s artistry, he can inlay the natural contours and flaws in the wood surface with turquoise and red coral. He also employs the use of clear or colored epoxy, if requested by a client. He has teamed up with metal designers and fabricators to create support legs where an industrial / modern look with wood slabs is desired.

The variety of wood that Robert has worked with include Arizona and Mexican Mesquite, Ash, Elm, Oak, Western Cedar, Walnut, Olive, Hackberry, Teak, Maple, Parota, Cocobola, Cherry, Mahogany, African Paduk, Purpleheart, Acacia and Eucalyptus.
